The fire invisible

No one saw it burn,
no one felt its warmth,
but it grew with each morn,
no one heard its breath,
but it was there somehow born,
even without fuel,
and with water all around,
after suffering the duel,
it nevertheless went ahead,
and became very cruel,
though it seemed vague,
shut inside the cage,
it spread like the plague,
with a wild rage,
was it too late,
the heat was unbearable,
efforts to stop were in vain,
the nightmare was terrible,
it caused too much pain,
still no one noticed the trouble,
no one knew it burn,
no one knew its warmth,
it grew with each morn,
no one heard its breath,
yet the fire in me is still burning.

Fire invisible

(All posts in school days’ Rhymes section were done in my school days.)

No one saw it burn, no one felt it’s warmth,
but it grew each morn,
no one heard it’s breath,
but it was there somehow born;

even without fuel,
and with water all around,
after suffering the duel,
it nevertheless went ahead,
and became very cruel;

though it seemed vague,
shut inside the cage,
it spread like the plague,
with a wild rage,

was it too late, the heat unbearable,
efforts to stop in vain,
the nightmare was terrible,
it caused too much pain;

still none noticed the trouble,
no one knew it burn,
no one knew it’s warmth,
it grew with each morn;

no one heard it’s breath,
but the fire in me still burning.

Unwilling Competitor

The last hope or the lost hope,
only future time will tell,
is there light at end of tunnel,
intense pressure none can cope;

from top slided down the slope,
now hard to climb up out of the well,
enjoyed fun, ignored warning bell,
never really tried, threw away last rope;

boat in storm without oar or rudder,
will gone, tired and desire feign,
thoughts of those relying boat cause shudder,
searching great gains, with little or no pain;

confident of final peak, no rope or ladder,
for now, lack the fire and will to strain.
